Being in an immodest place

שו”תCategory: HalachaBeing in an immodest place

I saw what you wrote regarding the issue of “Ika Darka Achrina” and “Lika Darka Achrina” and your conclusion is as in Pesach, “It is not possible and not from a direction” in relation to all the laws of walking through immodest places, as well as regarding other things (I did not understand why one should reach “It is not possible and not from a direction”, because there the Rambam ruled that even “It is possible and not from a direction” is permissible).
What do you think about staying in an immodest place? There is a distinction between going to a certain place and staying there.
It’s also a wonder that today, while many of the conservative public are cautious and strict about going to immodest places on the street, they also go to restaurants where there is almost no chance that there won’t be a patch of exposed pubic hair.
thanks

I’m planning a column on this soon, and I’ll address it there. It’s certainly understandable that there’s a virtue in avoiding it, especially if people don’t value being in such places (they don’t see value in art, etc.). The question of prohibition is not the only question. And indeed there is a difference between going and staying, at least if the stay is intended to be in the place of prohibition and not for any other purpose. It is the Ha-Chacha in Be’er Mayim Chaim that discusses the question of staying in a place where slander is spoken. I will address this there.

I don't see a reference to the division I asked about staying in a place with burglaries.

I answered it here.

I don't see a forgiving answer, help me understand.
How is it permissible to sit in a restaurant where there is a naked woman, because from the issue of Passover, one can learn in principle only about passing by in an immodest place, but staying can be a problem (and yes, this is also a fairly logical and intuitive distinction).

I don't understand where you got the distinction between passing through and staying. If it is forbidden, then passing through is also forbidden. You should understand that this is not a permit for any purpose, because then there would be room to discuss how far they allowed. There is simply no prohibition. By the way, Ba'er Mayim Chaim talks about staying.
