Benefits of reading and studying literature
Hello Rabbi,
I wanted you to give your opinion on my question, what is the point of studying general literature? I am mainly referring to reading books in the prose and suspense genres during leisure time.
Is there really any point in doing so? Or is it better not to waste time and read reference books and learn both scientifically and Torahically.

Beautiful literature has human and spiritual value. It enriches the soul. Leisure and entertainment literature is like a name for leisure and entertainment. This is also completely legitimate as long as you need it. Obviously, the more you study things of intrinsic value, the better.
