Consultation with the Rabbi on academic success
Hello Rabbi Avraham,
First, I would like to thank the rabbi for the blog and his actions to raise the intellectual level of religion. I hope the rabbi will continue to work on this important issue.
question:
How did the rabbi succeed in his Torah and general studies?
I really want to advance in my religious and academic studies and am interested in hearing from someone with personal experience on the matter about how he achieved his achievements.
Do the rabbi’s achievements come from talent or a special way of learning?
Or in other words: What does the rabbi advise me to do to succeed in my studies?
The phrase “the intellectual level of religion” is a bit jarring to me. Perhaps the intellectual level of the discussion of religious issues (in general) is better. I hope I have some contribution to make to that.
I don’t have an algorithm and I don’t think there is one at all. If you want to know something, just try to learn it, either on your own or in an organized frontal way. As you progress, you can evolve according to your taste, interest, and skills. The only thing I have to tell you and it’s universal is that you have to have a real desire and be willing to invest energy and effort into it.
I didn't understand the rabbi's reservation about the phrase "the intellectualization of religion." I meant the transformation of religion (i.e., man's turning to the divine) from a superficial emotion to one based on basic assumptions and logical arguments.
Okay. Not principled.
