I’ve been studying English independently for some time now. I wanted to ask if you think it’s permissible to use PDF files available online for English textbooks (published by Macmillan, Cambridge, Oxford, etc.).

How can I know? For example, in one book you just type in Google and it directs you to its pdf. Is that also illegal?
