Deontology
peace. I heard the rabbi say that he is in favor of taking any step if it leads to a solution regarding Hamas. Doesn’t the rabbi advocate deontological Kantian morality? That is, there are actions that are not done regardless of their consequences.
Definitely advocating. That’s why I think they should be killed and saved regardless of the consequences. 🙂
And more seriously, the Kantian consideration itself deals with results (do what, as a general course of action, will bring about the best results). The definition of the act of helping another is that the other will be helped. You cannot separate this from the result. It is true that an act of help should perhaps be done even in situations where the other will not be helped (there are pathological situations like that), and still the definition of help as a good action is because of its results.
