Double standards – veganism and abortion

שו”תCategory: moralDouble standards – veganism and abortion

Does the rabbi/doctor consider vegans who oppose the total consumption of animal products (for moral reasons of suffering, etc.) and at the same time hold (at least many of them) the position that abortion (at any stage of pregnancy where abortion is possible) is morally legitimate people who hold an inconsistent moral position? After all, if the murder/killing/death of a cow is forbidden because we like steak (personal reasons of convenience), does it make sense to abort/murder a baby (unplanned or planned but unwanted for whatever reason) because it doesn’t fit our current lifestyle? PS: My position on the morality of abortion is not yet sufficiently solidified.
