Duty of forgiveness
If a person has hurt me greatly and refuses to ask for forgiveness, do I still have an obligation to forgive him? And is the prohibition of “You shall not hate your brother in your heart” relevant here?

We discussed this a few times recently. In my opinion, there is no obligation, although it is a virtue. The permission/obligation to hate speaks of the wicked and not of everyone who has harmed you. The prohibition to hate in your heart, at least according to the Maimonides, is only a prohibition to keep hatred in your heart and not the hatred itself. The jurists did disagree on this. It is clear that it is desirable not to hate, and if you have it in your heart about him – tell him.
