Forward in prayer to the Prophet
Ready for joy,
Following the impact of the coronavirus on Rebbes of all denominations, including Kretschnif, Karlin, Chaim.K, Pittsburgh, Kalmanovich, etc…. I saw that the Haredim were publishing calls to pray for their well-being. This raises the question, why are calls to prayer not published for ordinary Haredim, but only for the special ones? Is the problem a lack of space in the issue or is there special importance in praying for the Rupash of those who are raised from the people over others?
Kind regards, Benjamin
Since time immemorial, people have prayed more for Torah greats and leaders. Even the Kir’ah is included in this. And the reason for this is very simple. A simple person, those who pray for him are his relatives and friends, and there is no need to call on them to do so. In relation to the greats of the generation, they are the relatives of the entire public who need them, and therefore they call on the public to pray for them. Such is the case with the great of the generation, whose entire generation died in mourning (for Moses and all Israel wept for him), and the 18th century, whose disciples died in mourning, etc.
It’s not very complicated for someone who looks at it with unbiased eyes. I recommend you try it, Benjamin.
I didn't understand the answer. The rabbi says that without an explicit call, they will not pray for them, even though they are "relatives of the general public." Is a public that doesn't need them exempt from praying for them? Heads of state, such as the King, are they all obligated to pray?
