Free choice and time travel

שו”תCategory: philosophyFree choice and time travel

Hello Rabbi Michael.
A terribly hypothetical question, although I have a feeling that it is directly related to Newcomb’s paradox and the meanings attached to it.
Suppose I travel in time to the future. There I see a certain person behaving in a certain way, and then I return to the present – before the choice. Can it now be said that he will choose freely when I know what will happen?
And I might add – what if this person is me? If I know what I will choose in the future, how will it affect me? I thank you for dedicating your time.

Since I think travel to the future is not conceptually defined, it is difficult for me to answer this. I discussed this problematic issue in my book on the logic of time in the Talmud (volume four in the Talmudic Logic series).

Thank you for your answer.

Is it possible to obtain the above books in Hebrew as well?

The book (like the entire series) is in Hebrew, but is only available on Amazon.
