If God is a more complex being than space, isn’t it more likely that the universe was created by chance than that God was created by chance?

What seems to me to be a contradiction is that everything was created except God.
A very common and incorrect objection to the physico-theological and cosmological argument. I addressed it at great length in the first statement, so I will answer it briefly here.
There are only two possibilities: an infinite regression of a creator and a created, or a chain that begins with a link that itself was not created by someone else. Infinite regression is a fallacy, and therefore there must be such a first link. A material object is not suitable to be such a primary link by its very nature, and therefore it is a different entity, one that does not need an external creator to exist. One that has always existed and has the ability to create our universe.
This is proof that even if we accept the principle that every object (at least a complex object) needs a component/creator, it must have at least one exception. Proverbs.
