God plays dice

You wrote in the book that God directs the process of natural selection to achieve the desired results. I wondered:

  1. Do you think he also directs natural selection in bacteria that have no connection to humans (say)? After all, they supposedly have no use, so he was supposed to (allegedly) let them go extinct and that’s it.
  2. Do you think it’s possible to measure this effect in an experiment? (Of course, if there were such an experiment, the scientist probably wouldn’t attribute the results to God, but still)

Thank you in advance. And thank you for the wonderful and long-awaited book.

Thank you.
  1. There is no specific intention here. The laws of nature were created by Him and they ensure that the process will lead to the formation of life and humans. Therefore, all of creation and animals are directed by Him, not just humans. By the way, bacteria have many important roles.
  2. What effect? The laws are the effect, and this is measured in experiments all the time.
