Haircut on the night of Tisha B’Av
Hello Rabbi.
Can an Ashkenazi soldier get a haircut immediately after Tisha B’Av? (Our commanders said they would give us time to get a haircut after midnight today, but we are a Beinish unit, so I’m afraid there will be a big load and that not everyone will have time to get a haircut normally. We were also told that the day after that there will be a sampling roll and anyone who is not sampled will be put on trial.)
I don’t see why you shouldn’t trust the haircut at the time designated for you. And why is it so important exactly how you will be counted? It is Ashkenazi custom to wait until the afternoon of the 1st of Av. If it is very critical, there is room for leniency, but I just don’t understand what is so critical here.
The question is stronger than the answer.
It seems that the respondent did not serve in a combat unit, and is unaware of the problematic
