I probably didn't understand. Everyone understands that preserving the life of another is a value, while eating pizza is a desire/lust. Does the Rabbi have a clear definition of when something is defined as a value and when as a desire?
Understood, and I answered. Do you have a criterion for when it's something you see and when it's something you imagine? Do you have a criterion for when you love and when you like? It's obvious and there's no need for criteria. There may be cases in the gray area, but that doesn't cloud the distinction itself.
The Rabbi wrote that there may be cases in the gray area, but this does not cloud the very distinction. For those cases where it does cloud, does the Rabbi recognize a distinction?
PS A person chooses and holds to his values of his own free will (otherwise they are not his own values) so this value is a distorted will. And since the Rabbi does not agree with this, I would be happy to read why.
