Intuition in free choice
Hello Rabbi.
I started reading your book The Science of Freedom and I heard your argument about Aviv Franco’s free choice. And from what I understood, you don’t believe in experiences as proof, and that’s what was written in the introduction to the book. But in the argument, you said that our feeling that there is free choice shows that the side that wants to say determinism has to prove that it is right because that is our feeling, but that is not proof, after all, you said that our senses can be deceived.
You are confusing emotion with intuition. Emotions are not evidence of anything because they are subjective, but intuitions certainly are. Every argument is based on assumptions, and they have no proof (otherwise they wouldn’t be assumptions). So where do we get them from? From intuition.
But you don't think intuition can be fooled.
It's definitely possible. It's also possible to deceive the senses, so you don't get sensory evidence?
That's the whole point of feeling you can't prove anything you just say what's more likely to be.
I just read a little bit of your column on intuition and what I built from the beginning that intuition may be a more logical proof of creation than emotion but still when I talk about free will you can't tell me what I think there is. So I don't think that means the other side has to give evidence because you still have to give evidence that there is free will
I see no point in this discussion. It seems you didn't understand what you read. I'm only making claims about me, not about you. You decide what your intuitions say.
Rabbi, I thought a little and you are right, I did not ask the real question.
My question is why intuition for you is sufficient proof that there is free choice, since you have no basis for the intuition being correct.
Intuition is not proof, but it is indeed a sufficient basis. I do not need a basis for intuition, since any basis you provide begins with intuitions (basic assumptions).
