Legends in the Talmud

Happy and funny Friday to Rabbi Michi!
How are you today?

When studying a tractate for the first time (meaning I haven’t studied it before), is it worth skipping the legends there?
For example, I study the Megillah, and in all honesty I tried to delve deeper into the legends there, but it doesn’t teach me anything practical. Not the letters of Menzeh, nor why the people call it Kinneret Kinneret.
Or it’s worth investing time, but not too much

I usually skip. I don’t see any value in studying fairy tales.
