Oral agreement
Peace and blessings to the honorable Rabbi
My sister ordered me some holy books in exchange for not ordering any more in the coming months. We made a verbal agreement,
Does this make sense or can I continue to buy books with my own money?
PS Thank you very much for the rabbi dedicating his time to answering the Responsorial Psalm, it is not obvious at all.
The question is not whether it is oral or written. A contract is also binding verbally. But here, simply put, there is no binding contract because of its content. This is a future obligation. Of course, there is an interest in keeping your word. And if it is clear that there was a condition here, then the books she bought you are not yours because you violated all the conditions.
Thank you very much, Rabbi.
It should be noted that I paid for the books, she only ordered them, so in this situation perhaps it does not confiscate the books from me.
