Faith is an equilateral triangle.
When someone asks, "What is this?" one should answer, "Because by force the Lord brought us out of Egypt, out of the house of slavery."
Can someone explain to me what is happening here??
Nothing special. The questioner here probably assumes that two words and a question mark at the end is a question. I explained to him that it is not. Ayalon suggests clarifying it to him in a different way than I did.
It is quite necessary to paste a vague expression here to satisfy the questioner with an incomprehensible answer:
“Faith is neither reason nor emotion, but the more fundamental self-revelation of the essence of the soul, which must be guided in its nature. And when there are no corrupters on its natural path, it does not need any other content to nourish it, but it finds everything on its own. When its light weakens, then reason and emotion come to pave a way for it. And even then it must know its value, that reason and emotion are not its servants, they are its very essence. And when it is firmly established in its place, then reason and emotion will succeed in clearing the way and in inventing the intellectual and moral means that remove the obstacles from its path”. (Rabbi Kook)
To the questioner, you really should explain the question, because there is no flesh in it and it can be taken in any direction we wish…
The truth is that it can be answered even briefly. Amen in the Bible means everywhere standing. Or more precisely, standing firm (if you do not believe, you will not believe, and I will drive a peg into a faithful place and a million other places) and indeed the root A.M.N alternates its letters with the root A.M.D (and by the way, also with Emet). So the short answer is that faith is standing
That is, faith in... is standing (reliance) on...
