I understood that it was disrespect for the sukkah or something like that. In my synagogue they talked about it, they said that it was forbidden to bring pots in, to engage in idle conversation, etc. I don't know if it's actually halakhic or maybe a mystical idea (the Oshpizin in the sukkah and you're talking about football?).
There is no shame in a person talking about worldly matters in the Sukkah. Therefore, one who wants to talk to his friend face to face or on the phone, it is better for him to talk in the Sukkah as he does at home, for whenever he is in the Sukkah he has a mitzvah (Shulhan 3:1). Likewise, those who want to play chess or Monopoly and the like, it is better for them to play in the Sukkah (Ezra 1:10). There are those who advise to spend a lot of time sitting in the Sukkah, and there are those who advise not to engage in worldly matters in the Sukkah (Shulhan 5:28, 5-6, and Ezra 4:22). And in any case, even one who wants to engage in worldly matters, it is better for him to do so in the Sukkah and fulfill a mitzvah in doing so than to leave the Sukkah in order not to engage in worldly matters there.
Quote from Pearls of Halacha Sanchot
I didn't understand what the problem was that 'the Osipizin are in the Sukkah and you are talking about football'.
How do you know that King David wasn't a football fan, and would have enjoyed intervening in the conversation?
Football was invented in England thousands of years after David
