Semen testing according to Halacha
Hello Rabbi,
In preparation for IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment, we were asked to do a sperm test.
Are there halachic rules for testing, meaning that the semen should only be released during intercourse?
It seems to me that if you are going to have such a procedure, it is advisable to do it with rabbinical guidance. The Pua Institute deals with this, and it is worth contacting them. They are well-versed in both law and practice.
Apparently the rabbi is not that knowledgeable. But I checked, inquired, asked, and researched over and over again.
I can say with 100% certainty that the truth is not a candle for the aforementioned institute. Lying and encouraging other rabbis to lie to the Jewish women of Kosher is a policy that is definitely accepted there. They often make it unlawful.
