Talking about infinity

שו”תCategory: generalTalking about infinity
asked 1 year ago

Hello Rabbi.
Does it make sense to talk about infinity in practice and not just in force? And if so or not, why?
Does saying that the world is ancient mean talking about a world that has existed for an infinite amount of time, an infinity that is either in power or in fact?

I think you can talk about a primordial world by force, but that is not an explanation of creation. The question of how it was created and by whom will remain. On the other hand, an apparently practical infinity eliminates questions about creation, but that is something you cannot talk about.
