The moral of the offsets
Hello Rabbi,
What is your opinion on the issue of offsets in the Knesset when a certain MK must be absent from a vote due to a medical need/funeral. Is it appropriate to offset or not to offset?
Best regards,
It seems to me that it is simply necessary to make a compromise. Basically, what they should have done is to take into account the opinion of an MK even if he is not in the plenary, and that is it. The obligation to make a compromise is not between a person and his colleague, but between a person and his delegates. This is not to take into account the MK who needs to be absent, but because the law is supposed to reflect the true majority of opinions in the Knesset and not a majority created from parliamentary exercises.
