The place of common sense compared to mathematics and physics.
Greetings to the rabbi.
Tools like common sense and intuition sometimes clash in mathematics, which sometimes moves in the opposite direction from common sense. Even in physics, according to my limited understanding, things are becoming less and less intuitive and more and more strange. What does this say about common sense and intuition?

This means that these are delicate tools and must be handled with care. In the end, even the physics that leads us away from common sense does so with the tool of common sense. Common sense operates within the constraints (of empirical data). Just as I wrote about Occam’s razor, that simplicity is not a criterion for truth in itself. A theory that does not fit the facts, even if it is simple, is not true. Occam’s razor only selects between theories that fit all the facts. From among them, we choose the simplest one. It is the same here.
