Traveling on Shabbat during military service
peace
I am a reserve soldier in the Judea and Samaria sector. On Shabbat next week, my family will be staying in a town relatively close to the post where my unit is stationed (a 25-minute drive). I plan to go visit them before Shabbat, as part of the rest time I have between the various tasks I perform (reconnaissance, checkpoint, standby squad).
The question is whether I could return to the post on Shabbat itself, given that the next mission I will undertake will only be on Shabbat morning, and there is no need for me to remain at the post until then.

Thank you.
Can my case be compared to a situation where doctors and nurses who have a shift during Shabbat travel to and from the hospital, and do not stay there for the entire Shabbat?
First of all, according to most halachic systems and this is how it is customary to rule, they do not return home on Shabbat unless they are accompanied by a gentile. Second, with a doctor there is a consideration that if you do not allow him, he will not go out to save lives. With a soldier, this is not his regular job and he must enlist.
