Tsolent in exchange for a life-saving brace.

The rabbi wrote several times that there is some advantage to an atheist over a traditionalist. [The rabbi is probably referring to the old traditionalist, who observes some and does not because of laziness or deliberate backwardness. And not by choice what seems right to observe and to be accepted as tradition and what not…]
Is there a moral and ethical advantage to not vaccinating because he thinks it is appropriate, over someone who does not vaccinate because he does not take life seriously? But if they tempt him with a plate of Tzolent [the city council’s statement], he will run to get vaccinated, stand in line, and even push, and all he does is scream, “Give me a vaccine, give me 2, give me whatever you want, the main thing is, give me the Tzolent that my soul craves.” ?

The prosaic reason for eating immediately after vaccination is that the vaccine may cause pain or weakness immediately after receiving it, and therefore it is served to the vaccinated from the hands of a doctor to feed his heart. In the vaccination area of the National Health Fund where I was vaccinated, they offered the vaccinated biscuits and crackers, and apparently some of the mehadhars offer the vaccinated a hot and tasty cholent to alleviate the feeling of pain or weakness.

More deeply, it should be said that receiving the vaccine is a great mitzvah, in which the person fulfills ‘and you have been preserved for your souls’ Together with the ‘mitzvah to hear the words of the sages’, the great sages of Israel who commanded vaccination according to the instructions of doctors – it is fitting to say that it is appropriate to accompany the fulfillment of the mitzvah with a ’mitzvah meal’ that expresses its fulfillment with affection and joy.
