Except for the coolers and cans
I read something interesting last Saturday, I’d like to share it with you.
The Gemara in Ketubot says that everything is in the hands of Heaven except for colds and plagues. From this it follows that illnesses (such as drying out in the sun or catching a cold, etc.) are within man’s control and are not his responsibility, and in any case there is no direct divine involvement in this.
It should be remembered that during the time of the Sages, they barely knew about the dangers of food (cholesterol, cancer), and certainly not smoking, etc. And of course, they did not know how to diagnose internal processes and find treatment for them.
If we take the “midrashic interpretation” of Zinnim and Fahim, we understand that today almost everything is treated through medicine, whether preventively or through medical intervention after the onset of the illness, so it is understandable that the majority of medicine is in our hands and not in the hands of Heaven.
And anyway, this explains why today (more generally) we see fewer signs of revelation and more of a “God has abandoned the earth” trend, because the modern, scientific world provides us with tremendous revelations and information that we didn’t know before. And we see that the Creator’s leadership is that the more human knowledge there is, the more distance it takes, and that’s not a bad thing, he built this platform and perhaps he even sees it as a success, that’s where he’s headed.
(The success of brilliant CRM software is measured, among other things, by not calling the technician who built it every moment to help understand or operate it).
It feels something like “The world was a baby before and needed more babysitters, and now it has grown up and needs less of an adult parent’s presence.”
Just as a point, I’d love to hear your opinion.

I read it, amazing, thank you.
Everything is in the hands of heaven except for “zinim and phaim” in gematria “is the corona” (384). Perhaps it is also implied that it is a product of zin (China), the work of humans and not in the hands of heaven, and the verse also says, ”He who guards his soul will keep away from them (to keep a distance, social distancing).
