Prayer on Zoom
Is there any point in praying with a minyan on Zoom? Is it possible to say things that are sacred? I am asking about two cases: 1) When there is a minyan of people who are together, and I join them on Zoom. 2) When there are ten people in different places who join via Zoom
I have written here before that I think a Zoom minyan is, to begin with, more than a balcony minyan. In a world where the Internet is part of our lives, just as there is a virtual site (=place), there is no reason why there should not be a gathering of people who are together in the same “site”. In contrast, a minyan from the persat is a gathering in the real world, and here the principles of the Shulchan Arash regarding gathering for a minyan apply.
Now I found it here (maybe there’s another place?…): https://mikyab.net/%D7%A9%D7%95%D7%AA/%D7%9E%D7%A0%D7%99%D7%9F-%D7%A7%D7%95%D7%A8%D7%95%D7%A0%D7%94
I think so about both cases. In the lesson on the subject of the moon, I gave a lot of examples of this.
Hi Rabbi Michael, this is Jonathan, can I have a link to Zoom please?
But I don't have the password and the other phone numbers. Can you send them to me?
Are you on Earth? This is trolling, or clarify what you want from me.
