How many times should you dip?
That is, is it permissible for a woman to immerse herself in water once (and not three or seven)?
To the best of my knowledge, the numbers three or seven are baseless. It is possible to speak of two times because of the question of “passing through” the blessing, which involves immersion before and after (the Sephardim practice once and the Ashkenazim twice). It is clear that one time done properly (preferably with supervision) is beneficial for purification, and that is the main point.
I heard from Rabbi Yehoshua HaCohen Friedman of Kochav Hashachar that the most important thing is that the number of times one enters the mikveh be the same as the number of times one leaves it 🙂
In a blessing, the Levite poured water on his hands
And in fact, during the first intifada, Rabbi Yehoshua came to the synagogue and asked: ‘Do Arabs have the commandment to redeem their son? I was driving and an Arab threw five rocks at me…’
