Why do so many people live badly their entire lives?

When I was a child, I thought that all people are equal, everyone has equal opportunities, everyone can get where they want to go and all that beautiful stuff.
Now that I’m over 40, I see the world very differently.
I think a huge percentage of the world, I don’t know exactly what it is, lives in enormous stupidity. Entire groups live in stupidity from the moment they are created until after they die (and their stupidity continues after their death).
Apart from them, technically a huge percentage of the world lives a very survivalist life, like billions in Africa, India, China, countries in Asia, Europe, South America, etc. Even in every country that is considered a “good country” there is a certain percentage who live in poverty at varying levels, to the point of being homeless their entire lives.
There is also a group of people with various disabilities or very serious physical or mental illnesses whose entire lives are spent suffering from their illness, and almost one hundred percent of their lives revolve around it.
Besides them, there are children with serious illnesses who die at a young age, or who die from accidents and the like.
Some people are born into criminal families and their entire lives revolve around that and around going in and out of prisons.
Some people are addicted to drugs or other serious addictions and much of their lives (depending on the intensity of the addiction) revolve around it.
There are many sects in the world that people belong to from day one to the last.
There are a huge amount of people who are born into the influence of terrorists and their entire lives revolve around how to be as much of a terrorist as possible.
And there are probably many more examples that I can’t think of right now.
How should I view this from a religious perspective?
So many people, maybe even the majority, I just don’t know statistics that well, just live really terrible lives or lives in complete darkness / complete stupidity / desire to do as much harm as possible, sometimes from the first second to the last second (and even after they die their bad effects can continue). What kind of life is this? And how is it that there are so many like that?

I think you are mixing up two types of situations. A significant portion of the people you described are to blame for their situation. Let them use their heads. They were given a choice and reason. The portion that is not responsible for its actions and suffers greatly is certainly far from being a majority. This raises the question of natural and human evil, which has been discussed here more than once (and in the second book in my trilogy). Search the site for natural evil and human evil.
