Using a Gentile on a holiday – no longer in practice

שו”תCategory: HalachaUsing a Gentile on a holiday – no longer in practice
asked 4 years ago

In the SD
Hello Rabbi,
I wanted to ask about the fact that my grandmother is very elderly (96+), and they want her to do the Seder on the holiday with the family, but she is no longer able to sleep outside the house, and therefore, there was an offer to pay in advance to an Arab taxi driver to take her there and back on the holiday. (And let’s say he opens the doors, etc., etc.).
Is this halachically permissible?
The assumption here that she would be quite disappointed if she were alone in her home is fine.
PS
(It’s not actually true anymore, because I told the family that it’s normal and that it’s forbidden (and especially since I doubt whether the grandmother wanted it that much…), but after attacks from my extended family on me… I wanted to ask if I was wrong.)

There is a rabbinical prohibition on saying something to a non-Jew, and it was permitted for the purpose of a mitzvah or for many needs, according to most opinions only when it comes to saying something to fulfill a rabbinical prohibition (returning to the Lord instead of a mitzvah). According to the Itur method, they also permitted saying something to a non-Jew in a Torah prohibition. Here, there is also enjoyment from a non-Jew’s deed done for you. Simply put, this is prohibited, although there may be room for relaxation if, from the grandmother’s perspective, it is a great need.

Thank you very much,
Is the intention to make it easier to rely on the opinion of the court? Or is it another matter?
So where they allowed a foreigner to say, they did not allow them to enjoy the actions of a Gentile anyway?
