Helping someone who refuses to accept it

I see a situation in my immediate surroundings that requires the intervention of law enforcement and in the laundry of words, peace at home, which reaches extreme situations.
The injured party is aware of the situation but, for his own reasons, refuses the intervention of legal authorities.
Am I allowed to ignore it???
Or should I take the initiative anyway, regardless of what the victim thinks?

Why do you need a word washer? You mean a situation of violence against a family member. It’s not a dirty word, but a part of life, unfortunately.
I think it’s important to contact the law enforcement agencies, because in such situations, in most cases, the victim is not free to decide what they want. Kind of like intervening in a suicide attempt against the will of the suicide victim (although there it’s perhaps worse because it’s a decision they made themselves). In any case, it’s an assumption. That doesn’t mean it’s always the victim’s will, but we have no way of knowing what their will is, so we follow the assumptions.
