What do you think of the professors’ letter in favor of the reform?
https://www.ynet.co.il/news/article/skeblcaci I saw that your friend Prof. Nadav Shnerb and many of the academics involved and other supporters also disagreed. Why do you disagree with them? Why did you come out so strongly against the reform? It seems to me that every sensible person will have to admit that it is needed after the coup that the judicial dictatorship carried out on us in the 1990s.
There is no dispute about this. See the next column for more on this. This is one of the illusions of the discourse. One side supports the reform but agrees that there is room for amendments, and the other side opposes it but agrees that some reform is needed. There may be arguments about the details, but there is certainly no consensus on this, even on that side. Some of the signatories to the letter you mentioned expressed themselves explicitly as such (Ron Shapira, Uman, and others).
