Commentaries
Let’s say we enter a person’s house and see a bank account form on his desk.
It says he has a billion dollars in his account.
Then we would peek into his diary and see that over the past thousand days he had been describing winning the lottery for a million dollars.
And every now and then (in a scattered manner) there were also forms from the lottery announcing a million dollar win.
It’s much more likely to be interpreted as meaning that he only meant it as a metaphor that he made a good deal and made a million dollars…
You claim in your book that evolution is something that is completely unprovable (a significant part of the book is based on this)
But it happened because of evidence.
I showed earlier in the parable of the billionaire that evidence should be calculated in relation to probability and agreement.
I am trying to argue that the evidence for the existence of evolution can be interpreted differently and I have previously cited Doug.
I’m sure there are other ways to interpret the evidence differently.
See the dog.
The question is in the philosophy of science.
Should we try to pursue other interpretations?
(If we don’t perpetuate, we will believe in evolution… but the feeling is that they don’t even try…)
I didn’t understand anything. Especially not the example of the banknotes, which seems complicated to me and adds nothing to the discussion.
There is evidence for evolution, but it can be pushed and interpreted differently.
Isn't that the right way to do it, considering the fact that, from a probabilistic perspective, there is almost no chance that evolution happened [so let's say there was a designer who designed it, but again, the evidence is not complete enough to agree with the theory]
[I brought up an example of when you see something that is clearly not clear, even if there is some evidence, it is better to twist it and push it away so as not to say anything that is not clear at all].
See here about the possibility of rejecting some of the evidence - https://rationalbelief.org.il/%d7%91%d7%a8%d7%99%d7%90%d7%aa%d7%a0%d7%95%d7%aa-%d7%99%d7%93-%d7%94%d7%90%d7%91%d7%95%d7%9c%d7%95%d7%a6%d7%99%d7%94-%d7%a0%d7%99%d7%aa%d7%a0%d7%aa-%d7%9c%d7%94%d7%95%d7%9b%d7%97%d7%94/
First, if you propose another interpretation, I'm sure many will seriously consider it. You're welcome to suggest it. Second, evolution itself is not so unlikely. The laws that govern it are the miracle (this is what I called the argument from the laws, as opposed to the argument within the laws).
