Dardaim

asked 2 years ago

Or “people of the generation of opinion,” I encountered several who refused to recite the blessing on a Torah scroll because its adaptation is not an adaptation and deserves a blessing according to the Geonim and Maimonides. Do they have anyone to rely on in our day to uphold this law and many others in accordance with the Mishnah Torah, or do you think this is an unnecessary aggravation?

I don’t know how to answer this question. If someone believes the Rambam, he must act like the Rambam. You ask whether this is true for the schools that disagree with the Rambam? Of course not. This, of course, does not mean that he is exempt from reading the Torah. He should write and work according to his own method.
