Haredi – State – Army
I come from the Haredi world…the Haredim are stuck because the secularists took over the Jewish settlement in the land.
I know it sounds extreme and crazy.
The Haredim, in their opinion, preserve the Jewish people in an authentic way. In their opinion, they are obligated as a society to study in a yeshiva or kollel.
From the age of 14 to around the age of 30, just so that the basic identity of the Jew is preserved…in the global cultural situation
It is impossible to come to a community that truly believes this is its foundation and change it!
There are problems that simply cannot be solved – it’s just a stalemate – Haredim would like to enlist, but it contradicts basic things for them.
The Haredim, however, wanted to establish a state – they were late, no doubt – but they also deserved it –
Those who attempted to reach an agreement with the Palestinians on behalf of the Haredim were murdered by the founders of the state, see here https://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%99%D7%A2%D7%A7%D7%91_%D7%99%D7%A9%D7%A8%D7%90%D7%9C_%D7%93%D7%94_%D7%94%D7%90%D7%9F#%D7%94%D7%A8%D7%A6%D7%97
And they feel that in a sense they have taken over the country – the secularists established a country, which is nice –
The Haredim [who also have something special in mind, in their opinion, that they are continuing the Jewish identity that has always existed] remained stuck –
They can’t really be part of the state as a state, so why participate in the Knesset?
Because they can use the country as a home base for certain needs as long as it doesn’t contradict the basis of their beliefs and identity.
There were several opinions – and in the end, the opinion of the Chazon Ish was accepted – to participate in the Knesset.
Because the fact that the secularists took over the Hebrew settlement in Palestine does not mean that the ultra-Orthodox have to lose everything…
Where do these arguments fall?

I can’t really distinguish the arguments, so it’s hard to comment. To the same extent, a person can say that his principles are not to bear the burden with everyone, and therefore he is okay with not bearing the burden with everyone. Another will argue that his principles are to exploit everyone else and not contribute anything to them, and therefore it’s okay for him to act this way. The Haredim make both claims and some other nonsense of this kind.

It is a matter of intuition to understand that these principles are inappropriate and that those of the Haredim are definitely appropriate.
