On the Haredi dictatorship

I have come to the conclusion that the Haredim are simply a religious dictatorship just like political Islam. They have rabbis (who are operated by businessmen) who dictate the public agenda, opinions on clothing, etc. If you dare to vote for another scholarship, you will be disgraced. The greatest proof is their opposition to the Internet, as befits a respectable dictatorship like North Korea. The question is whether the state has the moral courage to dismantle all this filth and impose a distinctly secular civil agenda on them.

There is such a dimension in the Haredi world. But the Haredi have to deal with it themselves. As long as they accept it, there is no justification for the state to interfere with their norms. Haredi always expect others to do the work for them. Even the Haredi rebels want others to pull the chestnuts out of the fire for them.

If the “biggest” proof is the opposition to the internet and comparisons to North Korea, then it’s a theory with minimal basis…
