When is it appropriate?
Shalom Rabbi, in continuation of the last article and the long question asked here, I would like to know why in Halacha and Gemara we engage in investigations and clarifications, which are in the “intellectualistic” dimension, and in almost every other subject, according to your words, this is something that is not right and proper to do. That is, where are investigations done and where not, and why?

I am the last one to deny the use of logic and philosophy and scholarly inquiry. It is right to do so everywhere and about everything. But one must not be a prisoner of inquiry, and one must not neutralize common sense. Using logic is a tool, and some people see it as the essence of everything. That question was a great example of what I wrote about in column 655. I am sure that this guy is one of the most talented in his group, and you can see that he has sharp thinking. And that is precisely why you see how crooked it is. Exactly what I wrote in the column.
