Again, different topics.
Hello Rabbi Michi!
How are you doing on such a rainy day?
I didn’t expect to ask political questions, but here I am!
1. You said in one of your columns that a religious leftist is an oxymoron, beyond that I tried to think and understand why and when the right became very religious (and in general, what does that say about people on the religious left?)
2. What is your position on the settlement enterprise? Is Jewish settlement in Judea and Samaria necessary? Partial annexation of Area C?
3. I have a good friend and we study in a mixed Beit Midrash on various subjects (Gemara, Bible, a little Hasidism and philosophy – Mo’n, Khozari and contemporary). I’m afraid that I will influence her negatively. How can I open her up to open and critical discourse and have her form her own opinion? I try to expose her to all possible arguments on a particular issue and have her form her own opinion because that is most important to me. Is there room for improvement here? Can I act differently?
4. When will episode 19 of Dogmatica be released on YouTube? I’m waiting for it.

- As far as I remember, I didn’t say this in any column. It’s true that there is a correlation between religiosity and the right. I’ve given extensive explanations of the matter in two columns. In short, the left can appear in two forms: a negative left (in the absence of criteria, everyone is equally right and worth the same), and a positive left (I have a positive position that everyone is equal). The first position is found in high doses on the left, and it certainly correlates with secularism. In order to adopt objective criteria of good and evil, you have to believe in the source that gives them validity (see column 456).
- I don’t have a defined position. I tend to think that we need to formulate a position on what we want and act accordingly. Not wait for agreements. That’s not happening right now, and so we’re constantly just giving in to pressures from home and abroad.
- I didn’t understand the question.\
- Ele. The lessons usually go up the same day or at the latest the day after.
