University assignments and exams

  1. Is there indeed a halachic or moral problem with using the material in a home test where it is stated that it is forbidden to use the material? The lecturers have no way of enforcing this, and in addition, those who use it lower my score by the factor, so that those who do not use it lose.
  2. In addition, is there a problem with using chat gbt to prepare tests and assignments? It can prepare very good seminar work and save a lot of work, as well as with tests.
    thanks

  1. In principle, it is forbidden. If it is clear to you that everyone does it, then there is a reason to allow it. But I don’t know how you can know from that.
  2. It depends on the lecturer’s instructions, and of course on the other students (as in the previous question).
