Hey, I also wanted to ask a question about something that was said on the podcast.
I understood you said you weren’t conservative. I thought being religious and being conservative went together, didn’t I? Halacha is conservative in principle, isn’t it? (Status of women, modesty, attitude towards LGBTQ people) Maybe you could explain what you mean?

As a general rule, if everyone who abides by the laws is a conservative, then there is no one who is not a conservative. Anyone who abides by the laws of the state or the laws of morality is also a conservative.
A conservative is someone who is reluctant to change the interpretation of laws or the methods of their implementation, and not everyone who upholds the laws. The number of laws does not determine the degree of conservatism. It is the attitude towards the laws that determines this. On the contrary, someone who has no laws in his world cannot be a conservative (because what would he uphold?), but neither can he be a reformist (because what would he change?).
