Question about the placebo effect

שו”תCategory: generalQuestion about the placebo effect
asked 9 years ago

I continue to receive bio-ergonomic treatments from my son and his wife, some issues are treated successfully and others not at all. In my opinion, if it were a matter of faith alone, then these treatments would have helped me with every problem [or not at all!], in the current situation I don’t think the placebo effect is relevant at all.

Regarding your view on the placebo, I again disagree. There are no rules for placebos. Not ones that we know of. Therefore, faith does not treat all illnesses equally. Your conclusion is logically and scientifically flawed. Why assume that faith and placebo are supposed to treat all illnesses equally? There are illnesses for which no faith will benefit, and there are some for which it will benefit a little, and there are some for which it is everything.
