Holocaust lamentations
peace. There is that article in which the rabbi opposes the use of modern laments about the Holocaust within the laments for the Ninth of Av.
Does the rabbi still hold this opinion?

Where is that article?

Can you please tell me at what points did the rabbi retract it? And why?
Mainly because of the fundamental perception that there is sanctity in the canonical laments and that there is a prohibition against a poet composing them casually. I also retreated from the sacred and canonical attitude towards the text of the prayer in general (although part of it is halakhically binding, of course).
“I think that if it is possible to offer a clear distinction between Reform and Conservatives, and Orthodox, it lies on this point. Those who come to correct (add or subtract) think that things are ‘at eye level’, meaning that they understand them and their meanings. Those who are afraid to correct it are because they understand that things are higher than the highest, and that not every creature can touch them. To put something into a siddur, or into a canon of prayers that is binding on all of Israel, requires a measure of the Holy Spirit. I think that this is also part of the background to the controversy surrounding the prayer for the peace of the state by Sh. Agnon, and others like him”.
Who would have believed that these things came out of the same keyboard that owns the website.
And we still need to know at what point the rabbi retracted it???
I explained it above. What's not clear? Adolescents…
Everything is clear, I just wrote it before the rabbi's response was published.
