The goals of religious Zionism today
Hello Rabbi, I wanted to ask you what you think the goals of religious Zionism should be today regarding the state, and how can they be implemented? I feel that from my environment it is very unclear to people what their goals are and what their ambition is.. I know this is a big question, but I would still be happy if you could say something on the subject, thank you and have a good day!
Hello.
I don’t think that religious Zionism should have goals in relation to the state. We should try to make it run correctly, and everyone should do it according to their own understanding of what is right. In terms of religion and state, I think it is right to separate, so I wouldn’t set goals in this area. In my opinion, religious Zionism is an anachronistic concept and irrelevant to our day. It was relevant before the establishment of the state, when there was a debate about whether to be a Zionist or not. A more relevant concept is modern religiosity, and this has goals (as for the general public) whose main goal is to neutralize the goals of religious Zionism and the Haredi (who, by and large, strive for the same goals).
