Peace be upon you, Rabbi Shlita.
In your opinion, why did Zacchaeus keep the Book of Medicines? There are two big questions about this.
1. He archived the book of medicine so that people could pray, but in your opinion, there is no power in prayer?
2. How could he hide information that could have led to the cure of thousands of patients? This is halachically and morally problematic?

  1. First, maybe he thought prayer was useful and was wrong? Second, even if I say that once upon a time God was involved. Once upon a time there were also prophets and miracles.

2. It is of no use if one can pray and be healed.

Maimonides, in the Pesach Prayer, writes about those who interpret that the purpose was for them to pray, "Woe to the fools..." for exactly the reason mentioned in question 2.
