Worldly values
Peace be upon the Grand Master Shlita.
For some time now I have been debating whether there is a religious significance to external values such as national art and the like. Although it is not common in our generation to talk much about “clear sparks,” according to the perception that everything is divided into good and evil depending on how it is used. However, what about art in the name of art, for example, and not in the name of another value? The Sages say that there is a value for the way of the earth. Do secular values come into this?
What is the difference between external values and morality? What you think is right is binding on you. Why did I call it a moral?
Although not every detail from your list here is a value. In my opinion, nationalism is not a value but a fact. Although action for the sake of the nation should be discussed as to whether it is a value-based action (i.e., as distinguished from action for the sake of other people).
Art is also not a value in the ethical sense. Perhaps an aesthetic-human value (see column 154). It seems to me that it is an occupation that is important for the development of personality, similar to studying philosophy.
