The permit to be a judge

Hello.
For some time now, I have been trying without success to find a source that will summarize the opinions in a fairly simple question: Can an observant Jew serve as a judge in the secular legal system in Israel/abroad (for example, Rachel Freyer)?
There seem to be several problems here:
A) Spending money by force not according to the laws of the Torah.
b) Putting a person in prison (is this a sentence of imprisonment?) according to treaty law. Is it justified that since he is a citizen of that country and that is the law, he accepted it upon himself and abandoned himself?
Can the rabbi refer me to the MM on the subject and perhaps even offer your position?
