Hello Rabbi!
I wanted to share with the Rabbi something that is much more than a feeling. Something that stems from a real feeling. That on Shabbat night, something on the scale of the Red Sea splitting happened here. I have a PhD in physics and worked for several years in the defense industry in Israel, on projects that are still the cutting edge of the State of Israel. When I look at what happened on Shabbat night, on a scientific level it simply cannot happen. The likelihood that everything, absolutely everything, will work out does not exist in complex systems like the defense systems that were in operation. They have never, ever, not only in the State of Israel, been tested in real time. I took a pencil and dove into calculations to check the likelihood that such an outcome would materialize. The large number of events that had to be handled, when each missile or UAV is handled independently (i.e. human error or any deviation of one action is not offset by other successful actions), doubles the chance of error. With all the advanced technologies, the expectation was for a breakthrough in the defense of the skies of the State of Israel. Even if we had received protection from 90%, it would have been a miracle. What happened was that everyone, but everyone – the pilots, the system operators and the technology operators – acted as one person at one moment in total unity. If this is not an act of God, then I don’t know what a miracle is. It is more striking than the victory in the Six-Day War or the War of Independence. There it can be explained by nature. The rescue that occurred to the people of Israel on Saturday night is simply impossible in a natural way. I believe that this miracle saved the lives of many people from the people of Israel. If the defense system had failed to intercept several cruise missiles, the result would have dragged us into a very complex battle. I wouldn’t bet that next time it would work like this without divine supervision. The simple proof of my words is that the managers of the defense industries who develop and produce these systems promise no more than 90% success!
