On religious commitment
Let's say I believe - I'm convinced that there is a God and even accept the status of Mount Sinai as a historical event, well, so what? The fact that something created a world that we are a part of and decided one day to enact certain instructions - why does that obligate me? What do I care? I don't like these laws! If he gave people a choice, that's his problem! In other words: I would love a logical reason why to keep the commandments, especially when we take the issue of reward and punishment off the table (at least according to the perception that this is not the real reason).
Thanks in advance.
First, because it is the truth. It is the right thing to do. It is the right way to live. And in addition, there is the duty/commitment to God's command, which you can see here: https://mikyab.net/%d7%9b%d7%aa%d7%91%d7%99%d7%9d/%d7%9e%d7%90%d7%9e%d7%a8%d7%99%d7%9d/%d7%94%d7%9b%d7%a8%d7%aa-%d7%98%d7%95%d7%91%d7%94-%d7%91%d7%99%d7%9f-%d7%9e%d7%95%d7%a1%d7%a8-%d7%9c%d7%90%d7%95%d7%a0%d7%98%d7%95%d7%9c%d7%95%d7%92%d7%99%d7%94/
