Two questions
Hello Rabbi
1. What do you think about the renewal of the war in Gaza? There doesn't seem to be a horizon for the day after (hasn't it already arrived?), there is no clear policy, the innocent in Gaza are already suffering too much, what is the justification for continuing there?
2. The base I serve in has a family housing complex, they have a soccer field that says "For housing residents only" on the sign at the entrance. Sometimes my guys end up playing there. Is it allowed to play there? Or is that theft?
thanks.
- There has never been a greater prospect for this war, for a thousand reasons. A. It is a threat to Hamas that could lead to the release of hostages. We have already benefited from this in the Alexander era (contrary to the propaganda that Trump released him, what did this was our threat to expand the war). B. If they do not surrender, it is time to enter them and eliminate them. Continue fighting for a year or two until they are eliminated. There is no reason why we cannot succeed in this. This is an opportunity that will not come again. C. There is no reason to determine a policy for the day after. After we eliminate Hamas, we can bring in whoever we want. Before we eliminate it, no one will volunteer to deal with it in our place. The innocent in Gaza do not exist. There are those who are not involved, but there are almost no innocents. And they really have not suffered enough, the fact is that the hostages have not yet returned and Hamas has not yet surrendered. When that happens, we will know that they have suffered enough.
- It depends on the law. Whoever owns the land determines what will be done with it. In a normal city, the residential area beyond the houses does not belong to its residents but to the municipality.
What did you mean when you said there are no innocents in Gaza, only the uninvolved? What's the difference?
And as for the uninvolved suffering enough, why do you think that when they suffer enough, Hamas will fold and release the hostages? After all, Hamas only benefits from their suffering.
The difference is that all Gazans are a collective persecutor who is allowed to be harmed, even if there are uninvolved people. The responsibility is on everyone, even if not the blame. Innocent are those who also have no responsibility. See Tory on the treatment of the residents of Gaza.
If Hamas knows it is going to be destroyed, it stops profiting from their suffering, and they will stop supporting it and obeying it. Hamas's entire game is just assuming they survive, and then the suffering benefits them.
