Prohibition on traveling abroad
Hello Rabbi, I wanted to ask you a small question regarding traveling to the Netherlands for a ski vacation. Is this permissible according to Halacha?
There is a lot of room for easing up on traveling for a trip or vacation. While some are strict about this, in my opinion there is really no point in it.

Hello Rabbi, if you could please expand on the prohibition/permit of traveling abroad for the purpose of travel/vacation. Thank you very much!

Hello.
Quite a bit has been written about this and can be found online. In general, I see no reason to prohibit travel for such purposes, and several important rabbis have done so. At its core, the prohibition is against settling down, and some have expanded it to include the fear of settling down. Traveling these days is truly a temporary journey (unlike in their time, when travel was a difficult and complex journey and there was certainly reason to fear that it would be irreversible).
