A blessing without direction

What does the Rabbi think about this book?

So that He may bless you. And although you return to His hand unwisely, He will make it right. For now a stone has fallen from His hand, and its owner is poor and is enslaved by it — He is the one who blesses you over it (my book):

How can someone who did not choose to do something receive a reward or a blessing for what happened to him? It just happened to him and he did not decide to do it. And if it is a blessing that is not necessarily related to his choice, why should he receive it and not someone else? And if it is because he has merit, why not merit him immediately instead of bringing a mitzvah to him and from that he receives a blessing

It’s really unlikely. There’s an assumption here that this is some kind of automatic mechanism. I don’t think so.
